Shaker and powder: useful, not magical
Recovery is mostly sleep, meals, and showing up again. A shake helps on the days a full meal cannot follow training.

Protein powder has a reputation larger than what it is: a practical way to add protein when a proper meal is not ready. It does not replace sleep, a session you actually did, or a plate of food you enjoy.
It becomes interesting on the evening you get home late, and cooking feels heavier than the training itself.
What a shake does — and does not
After effort, the body needs protein to rebuild, and energy to get through the rest of the day. A shake can cover part of that in a few minutes. It will not “cut” you, it will not build muscle on your behalf, and it will not make up for three quiet weeks.
If your meals already carry enough protein — yoghurt, eggs, fish, legumes, tofu — you do not have to buy anything. The shaker is a plan B you choose, not a badge.
Two objects, not a kit
The powder and the bottle are separate. Buy one, the other, both, or neither. Meals that already carry enough protein need no powder. A jar and a glass work if you do not want another object to wash.
The powder. Look for a short ingredient list and a source you tolerate — milk, pea, soy. Try a small tub first. Be wary of “fat-burner” claims and servings that look like a laboratory.
The shaker. Leak-proof, a mesh so the powder does not clump, and light enough that you will wash it. A bottle that stays dirty in the bag will not become a habit.
Water or milk, a piece of fruit if you are hungry, then a real meal later: that is already an honest recovery.
Tie the drink to the session
The habit works better when it has a moment. End of session, shower, shake, then on to something else. Without that thread, the powder joins the cupboard next to the good intentions.
That is what Tempo is for: a dated session, a guide that takes you off the page, a mark that you passed through. The shaker no longer has to carry the whole myth of progress. It simply helps on the days the kitchen can wait.
