How to perform the movement

  1. Stand and press two dumbbells together horizontally at chest height.
  2. Maintain the inward squeeze on the dumbbells throughout.
  3. Press the dumbbells forward to full arm extension.
  4. Pull them back to the chest under control.
  5. Repeat for the prescribed reps.

Technique cues and common mistakes

  • The squeeze on the dumbbells is what makes the exercise — do not let them separate.
  • Use a light load — pec activation is the goal, not load.
  • Keep the elbows slightly bent at the lockout.

This is general movement information. It is not medical advice or an individual prescription.
