How to perform the movement

  1. Attach a V-bar handle to a high cable pulley.
  2. Stand facing the stack and grip the V-bar with both hands, palms down.
  3. Start with the elbows tucked to the sides, forearms parallel to the floor.
  4. Press the handle down until the arms are fully extended.
  5. Squeeze the triceps, then return under control to the starting position.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.

Technique cues and common mistakes

  • Keep the elbows pinned to the sides the entire set.
  • Don't lean into the bar; a small forward lean is fine, but let the triceps do the work.
